“Recovery is a journey, and the Twelve-Step program is the road we travel together in OA.” -OA daily reader, Voices of Recovery
Before OA I isolated. I dieted and I binged on my own. I only understood the physical diet and when the mental twist of this disease hit, I ate, and failed my diet without understanding why.
OA is a journey. I remember the year the Forum at World Service Business Conference was all about that journey. A map with pitfalls and highpoints made for wonderful discussions, and wonderful communication. I remember the fun the committee had creating it. We are not meant to live our lives alone, in isolation. Together we can do what we can never do alone!
The pandemic has introduced us to so many wonderful meetings on the zoom platform. I am so grateful for that. There is a lot of texting and messaging going on now, but I still step out of the isolation by calling people. The changes made during the pandemic are another stop on my journey. I’m grateful for those I’ve met along the way. There are so many meetings I really enjoy attending and hope to continue. I also look forward to a time when it will be safe to attend meetings in person again, in safety.
